What Is Lagree & What Is A Megaformer??

Updated: May 7, 2020

In today's post we are going to tell you exactly what Lagree is, how it can benefit you, and what a workout on a megaformer (aka that crazy looking machine) consists of! Cheers to the workout that will change your life!

What is "Physical Fitness"? Is it more than just the physical appearance of your body? The answer is YES! Physical fitness is defined as "a set of attributes that people have or achieve that relates to the ability to perform physical activity." In simpler terms, it is more than just being able to lift a lot of weight or run a long distance. Physical fitness is made up of these following components:

  1. Cardiorespiratory Endurance

  2. Muscular Strength

  3. Muscular Endurance

  4. Body Composition

  5. Flexibility

In addition, Lagree focuses on:

  1. Core Strength

  2. Balance

These elements are why Lagree is becoming the hottest workout worldwide. It is a high intensity but low impact muscular endurance workout that EFFECTIVELY combines strength, endurance, cardio, balance, core, and flexibility.

“A little progress each day adds up to big results -- Growth is a beautiful process.”

About The Workout Itself

These 45 minute classes will leave you feeling accomplished in more ways than one. The goal of each exercise is to keep your muscles contracted and embrace the shake. It is all about effective muscle stimulation -- the minimum amount of muscle stimulation needed in order to trigger a positive and adaptive response from the body and brain which results in MUSCLE GROWTH and FAT LOSS. This workout is designed to focus on the Slow Twitch Muscle Fibers, aka the "fat" burning fiber. By having constant and continuous tension on these muscle fibers, you will also stimulate the Aerobic System. So the slower you go, the more your heart rate will actually increase. Thats the fun part about Lagree!

Explaining The Megaformer

A megaformer is often times simply described as a huge rowing machine with a platform and cables on each end. The machine itself looks a lot more intimidating than it really is. It is really just a large machine with resistance options to perform movements such as lunges, squats, rows, planks, shoulder press, and endless other exercises. It is a whole gym tied into one machine!
